Blitar–Detakpos.com-Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa made a pilgrimage to the tomb of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir Soekarno located in Blitar City, East Java, Friday (1/10/2021).
This visit is also a moment to commemorate the sacred day of Pancasila. In addition to visiting the tomb, the Minister also explored Bung Karno’s library which was opened on July 3, 2004.
Minister Suharso was seen accompanied by his wife, who is also a member of the DPR RI from the PPP faction. In the pilgrimage, the Mayor of Blitar, the Regional Secretary and their staff were also present. The event started with prayer and tawasul led by local religious leaders.
“Alhamdulillah, this afternoon, we can visit the grave of the proclaimer of Indonesian independence, Ir Soekarno, in good health without anything missing. Hopefully our pilgrimage is truly blessed by Allah SWT, produces blessings for us, our families as well as our nation and country, and no matter how small we do, hopefully it will be a strong cause for Allah to glorify us all, “said the religious leader. who leads the prayer.
The minister and his wife were also seen pouring water and sprinkling flowers on President Soekarno’s grave after the prayer.
Before leaving the tomb, the Minister received interviews with a number of journalists. On that occasion, the Minister emphasized that his visit was for pilgrimage.
“I came and saw the development of this place. Hopefully, future generations of Indonesia will learn from what Bung Karno has done, especially when he fought to free our nation and country from colonialism,” said Minister Suharso.
“What is Bung Karno’s ideals so that Indonesia can be known and respected by the world, he reminded the younger generation to master science, that’s why he said we not only need to be satisfied, but we also need dreams.
